When I was growing up, I thought country music was the only genre of music besides classical because it was all I heard in my house. Living out my childhood with a Texan father and a country-loving Korean mother, I came out of the womb listening to the greats. For the longest time, I thought "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was originally by Johnny Cash, and I wasn't aware that Whitney Houston did a cover of Dolly's "I Will Always Love You". Country music runs through my veins. It has taught me who I am, how to write songs, and how to express myself. I want to make country music that everyone can listen to, that everyone can relate to, whether they like country music or not. Country has taken me from writing silly songs in my bedroom in 2nd grade to recording and putting my original songs on Spotify/iTunes, winning The 2016 Southern Methodist University Talent Show with my song "Boots", and having Pentatonix's Scott Hoying pick "Boots" for first prize in the 2017 Songsmith Songwriting Shootout. I was born to sing country music and share it with the world, and I hope that my music translates that to y'all. Thanks for visiting my site and for all the support! I can't wait to share more and more music with y'all in the future!
